not-so-gross airport food →
After my in-flight egg and cheese sandwich experience yesterday, these recommendations from the New York Times all sound pretty worthwhile, especially if your flight is delayed and you’re willing to pay a little (or a lot) more. I usually end up packing pasta salad and fruit from home or grabbing a sandwich from Au Bon Pain before hopping on the plane.

Ah, brassica. This tasty genus of plants includes all kinds of nutritious leafy greens that are high in vitamin C, vitamin A, and iron. Among them are kale, cabbage, and collard greens, which 1. become sweeter after the first frost of the winter, and 2. can still be found at local greenmarkets. Aside from simply sauteing them with garlic and oil, here’s how I like to eat my greens:

David Chang (does anyone not like this guy?) reads cookbooks at Kitchen Arts & Letters. I think it’s a great bookstore and a perfect place to kill a few hours before dinner; I imagine that it’s at least a million times more awesome for Mr. Chang.
